Bad Engine Mounts? Find a Used Parts Dealer

Even the most recognized car models in the world aren’t immune to simple problems that can frustrate most people. Take for instance the Honda Civic, whose 1992 to 2009 models are vulnerable to a problem that causes their engines to shake and rattle, which in turn makes steering much more difficult. Honda has verified that this problem is caused by bad engine mounts, which can be fixed by visiting a supplier of used Honda auto parts.

Engine mounts function as restraining devices to keep the engine (specifically, the power plant) in its place whenever the vehicle is taken for a spin. Normally, natural wear-and-tear is the only reason why Honda Civic owners need to replace their engine mounts. However, physical damage to the vehicle’s engine compartment, like a head-on collision, can also lead to an engine mount replacement. A combination of loud banging noises and excessive vibrations is a sign that the engine mounts need to be replaced immediately. This is because some car parts are already coming into contact with the engine while it’s running.

If car owners aren’t quick enough to act on this problem, they risk causing even more damage to their vehicle’s engine compartment. Belt assemblies can get torn and interior components can get dislodged by the force of the vibrations in the engine. These things lead to even more expensive repairs that may not be covered by a Honda Civic’s warranty.
